WT Program Focus: Career Development/Internship
Program Description:
This project will be completed remotely.  This project is only open to 4th and 5th year students.

Project Description:

The Conservatory Professional Development Intensive will explore music career topics and professional practices within the industry. Students will create a professional portfolio by the end of the course and interact with leaders in the field. Topics will include music career options, financial considerations, networking, presentation online and on paper, arts organizational structures, and arts funding structures. The course will also explore how organizations and musicians are building community during the coronavirus pandemic. Students will gain practical skills involved with remote musical performance including DIY audio and video editing, and best practices in presenting oneself in video format. 

Students enrolled in the Professional Development Intensive will create a professional portfolio that includes: a professional résumé, bio, artistic statement, audio and video samples, and an analysis of peer organizations/individual artists in their field. Students will also be assigned readings and written assignments related to the professional development topics.

*This WT intensive is not intended for students who are currently enrolled in PROF 200 this Fall 2020.

This project is Non-Selective up to the enrollment limit.
