Project Description:
The WOBC archival project will work with a variety of media at the Oberlin College student radio station, WOBC 91.5-FM.  Participants will work with reel-to-reel tapes containing music, speeches, lectures, protests, and radio shows; "carts" with radio station ID's and PSA's, cassettes, computer files, and paper documents as well.  Analog recordings will be transferred to digital formats and documents will be organized and archived in a fashion to facilitate researchers and others interested in the historical information on record.  Participants should expect to spend 4-6 hours each weekday in the radio station and might consider applying for a winter term radio show as well (see the WOBC website for DJ applications).  If you are interested in radio or the history of Oberlin College, this could be an exciting project!
