Note: This is the half credit version of this project
LAJAMARTIN physical dance theatre, co-founded in 2017 by Laja Field (SLC, UT) and Martin Durov (Slovakia), (bio below) will teach a two-week intensive featuring a rigorous dance technique class in the morning open to all students including those without prior movement training.
Students registering for Half Winter Term Credit will participate in a morning technique practice the last two weeks of January.
The morning class will include warm-up and practice in movement styles that incorporate floor-work, acrobatic elements, contemporary movement as well as Slovak Folklore. It will also include creative play with lip-syncing, live scenes and everyone’s own style of improvisation to fuel our creative options. It will conclude with a final showing that is free and open to the public.
Laja & Martin are young artists to watch on the international dance scene. Currently generating attention and enthusiasm in New York and throughout Europe, they will be an invaluable resource to dance students seeking to enter the professional field as performers and choreographers.
