Program Description:
Students may apply for the German Exchange Scholarship sponsored by the Federation of German-American Clubs (Verband der deutsch-amerikanischen Clubs). This program offers individual, yearlong, supervised study at a German university of the student’s choice. In recent years students have studied at universities in Berlin, Munich, Koblenz, Mainz, Essen, and Tübingen.

Students apply directly through the Oberlin German department and are admitted into a specific German university. The deadline for the departmental application is usually the third Friday in February. Once a student is nominated by the Oberlin German Department, they will also need to complete an application with the Office of Study Away.

For questions and information about the application process, please speak with the German department chair in Peters 222, 440 / 775-8650.
