Overview

The London Theatre Program (BADA's undergraduate conservatory acting program in London accredited by Sarah Lawrence College) is designed for dedicated students who are passionate about their work and serious about acting.  Students may enroll in the regular program in either the fall or spring semester.  Those wishing to pursue their training more intensively may begin their studies in the fall and continue with the Advanced London Theatre Program in the spring semester. Students who come for either the fall or spring semesters take eight weeks of scene study followed by five weeks of rehearsal leading to a production in a professional theatre.  The Advanced London Theatre Program is offered to students who have successfully completed BADA’s London Theatre Program in the fall.

Facilities

BADA’s building and halls of residence offer students the perfect mix of historic London and modern facilities.  BADA is located in historic Regents Park, offering easy access to the vibrant life of Camden Town and London’s West End.  On site there is a comprehensive range of facilities including teaching rooms, a library, a green room, wireless and LAN internet connection, and a cafeteria.

BADA lies close to Primrose Hill (home to many actors, directors, writers and other celebrities) as well as Camden Town, the exhilarating crossroads of north London famous for its crowded markets, coffee bars, health food stores, art house cinemas and distinctive shops.

Students can thus take advantage of the cultural riches of one of the world’s great cities, and also travel easily round Britain and Europe during the one week mid term break.

Faculty

The LTP faculty is comprised of distinguished actors, directors and leading teachers from Britain’s foremost drama schools.  Alongside our distinguished faculty, BADA also arranges periodic Master Classes conducted by leading members of the theatrical profession.  Recent guest artists have included Sir Derek Jacobi, Fiona Shaw, Greg Hicks, David Leveaux, Jeremy Irons, Alan Rickman, David Schwimmer, Sam West and Deborah Warner.

Recent Productions

One of the highlights of the London Theatre Program is the chance for students to rehearse and perform in a working London theatre.  During the last five weeks of each term, students rehearse and perform productions of major British and European classical works.  The shows take place on the professional London stage, in front of an invited audience.
