London Program Brochure Photo
Oberlin College's Danenberg Oberlin-in-London Program is an interdisciplinary study-away program in one of the world's most dynamic and diverse cities. The focus of the program changes each year, based on the interests of the specific Oberlin faculty who are teaching that semester. The spring 2020 program will be taught in two parallel curricular tracks. Roughly half the students will be on the English track, with courses on British Modernism and the London Stage taught by David Walker, plus a class on the history of London taught by Katy Layton-Jones. The students on the Politics track will take courses on social class in Britain, taught by Marc Blecher, plus a class in theater and politics team-taught by Donna Vinter and Marc Blecher.

Because the London Program is an Oberlin program, you don't need to apply for an Academic Leave of Absence to enroll, you don't have to worry about whether your credits will transfer, and your financial aid will travel with you.

Unlike most study-away programs, the Oberlin-in-London Program offers students the opportunity to study abroad with professors from our own campus—and in one of the world's most exciting, diverse locations. It thus combines the thrill of living in a great international metropolis with the rigors of first-rate education. The curriculum makes intensive use of all that London has to offer. Classes are built to plunge you into the city—much learning takes place outside the classroom. Courses are both disciplinary and interdisciplinary. For more information about the program in general, and about the specific courses offered in 2020, see our website.
